Seeds are sprouting, flowers are blooming, and the sun is shining. May brings vast amounts of positive energy, offering us an opportunity to dare to do things differently and to explore what really brings us to life? What opens our hearts and allows us to bloom?

Be kind to everyone and start with the person next to you.
— Mother Teresa

Kindness is a simple act that can have a profound impact on our health and well-being. It is a way of showing compassion and respect for ourselves and others.

When we are kind to others, it releases feel-good hormones in our brains that boost our mood and make us feel happier. Kindness also reduces stress and anxiety, and it can even strengthen our immune system. In addition, kindness can help us build stronger relationships and create a more positive and compassionate world.

There are a fantastic number of ways that we can help another human being to feel better. Kindness can be expressed in many ways, big or small, such as:

  • Holding the door open for someone

  • Smiling at a stranger

  • Giving up your seat on the bus

  • Helping a friend in need

  • Donating to charity

  • Volunteering your time

Kindness is a powerful force for good. It can make us happier, healthier, and more connected to others. So next time you have the opportunity to be kind, don't hesitate. It's a small act that can make a big difference. Here are some additional benefits of kindness:

Reduces stress and anxiety. Kindness can help to reduce stress and anxiety by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for rest and relaxation.

Boosts the immune system. Kindness can help to boost the immune system by increasing levels of immunoglobulin A, an antibody that helps to fight off infection.

Increases happiness and well-being. Kindness can increase happiness and well-being by releasing feel-good hormones such as dopamine and oxytocin.

Strengthens relationships. Kindness can strengthen relationships by building trust and rapport.

Creates a more compassionate world. Kindness can create a more compassionate world by promoting understanding and respect for others. Each individual act contributes to the whole.

Here are a few tips to help you get in touch with Kindness:

  1. Start small. Don't try to do too much at once. Just focus on one kind act each day.

  2.      Be mindful of your words and actions. Choose to be kind, even when it's difficult.

  3. Be grateful. Express your gratitude to the people in your life who make you happy.

  4. Pay it forward. Do something kind for someone else, and encourage them to do the same.

If you're looking for ways to improve your health and well-being, kindness is a great place to start. Even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. So, go out there and spread some kindness today!

Full Moon in May is Friday 5/5/23.

Full Moon in May is the Flower Moon and reaches peak illumination at 1:36 P.M. (EDT) on Friday, May 5. It will be below the horizon at this time, so plan to venture outdoors on the nights of the 4th and the 5th to get the best view of the bright full Flower Moon! The full moon names used by The Old Farmer’s Almanac come from a number of places, including Native American, Colonial American, and European sources. Traditionally, each full Moon name was applied to the entire lunar month in which it occurred, not solely to the full Moon.

Crystal of the Month is Rose Quartz

Rose quartz is known as a healing crystal and the stone of unconditional love. It's believed by some to emit strong vibrations of love, which are thought to: support emotional and relationship healing. inspire compassion. boost feelings of peace and calm.

Rose Quartz purifies and opens the heart at all levels to promote love, self-love, friendship, deep inner healing and feelings of peace. Calming and reassuring, it helps to comfort in times of grief. Rose Quartz dispels negativity and protects against environmental pollution, replacing it with loving vibes.

Our Book of the Month for May is The Power of Kindness by Piero Ferrucci
